New Year's Resolutions
Happy New Year! It is Thursday, 1 January 2010, the beginning of a new decade. With new beginnings comes new life, and new beauty. We hold our breath to see what's in store, and pray for rain so that life will indeed spring forth.
I have definitely noticed an enlarging of the stomach due to the lack of weights and aerobics I have participated in during this festive season, and the intake of sugary substances in excess, but as we enter the New Year, we again shall enter the gym. I have one month left, and I will enjoy each moment I can.
New Year's Resolutions:
1. sell what I can, give away what I should, and store what I want to keep
2. get on that plane!
3. dedicate yourself fully for the first 3-4 months; then look at making traveling plans
4. taste the food, but be fussy!
5. learn the language
6. blog every day
7. take lots of good pictures
8. send postcards to friends and family
9. get to know your environment: hospital, library, gym, good restaurants, bank, police, etc.
10. hike at weekends
11. save money for a trip to Australia, Japan and China, possibly Russia and Taiwan. (ambitious)
12. get a guitar, and take lessons
13. inspire! Remember Doug's personality test results
14. see Yeongi Cha
15. Study 'Mere Christianity'
16. Continue 3-year Bible study plan.
17. email Mami and Pappi regularly, and Mel.
18. make friends
19. call Jessica, Matthew and ?
20. learn about their culture, their beliefs and their dreams.
In everything I do, I hope to be surrounded by friends. I hope to meet interesting people and we can go out together and talk about many aspects of life, and we can grow and teach and learn. I hope that I will see beautiful places, and sceneries, and I will capture them with my camera, and I will write about what was going on inside me. I hope I will understand how to "market" this blog so that I really will have people interested to read my thoughts.
Life's good. I love life. I want to go to a place you can't see with the eyes. But I am willing to start in Korea, a place so foreign to me I am afraid of it. Now or never. Now. Won.
