Outformation
I have a friend who is suffering from clinical depression. I say clinical because it is no longer the case of having the blues, or being moody. She has a host of other symptoms.
She has insomnia, she has lost a lot of weight. But the biggest symptom is the negative mindset of regret and indecisiveness. It has been disruptive to her life on a personal and professional level.
People have tried to help. She has been with her family. She has people praying for her. She has received advice. She has gone to doctors, but it has gone on for a long time now without improvement. What effect does depression have on a long-term basis?
I researched depression. A combination of diet, exercise and distraction are recommended. Now I myself am not a stranger to depression. I have had my bouts in the past but have not suffered for a good few years now.
I believe it is psychological. Possibly chemical, genetic, psycho-somatic. The reasons could be numerous. I believe she can get out of it. If it is a lack in her body, it could be as simple as taking supplements regularly, like magnesium, omega 3 and 6, SAMe, 5-HTP, and eating fresh raw vegetables, etc. But if she does not take them because she does not have the chi to swallow those pills, what can an outsider do?
Pray, is all I can think of to say. Pray for her to get out of bed, to stretch her body, to go see a professional, to take his or her advice, to take a walk, to volunteer somewhere, to regain her strength and dreams and love for life.
In this Information Age it is not a question of having information that makes a difference. That information has to be transformational.
Information that is processed and applied to transform lives becomes outformation, the manifestation of applied information.
I hope and pray my friend gets informed, is reformed, transformed and outforms herself.
